Hanging on Brickwork and / or Walls
Step 1 - measure the gap that you wish to fill.
Step 2 - decide on which side the latch needs to be fitted as viewed from the roadside or outside looking in.
Step 3 – remember to allow 2” (5cm) clearance under the gate or railing.
All of our metal gates and railings are:
- Supplied with adjustable hinges free of charge to provide a additional flexibility when fitting.
- Primed in BLACK. It is recommended that a top coat is applied as soon as the product is hung.
Hanging with Posts
If you plan to hang your metal gates or railing on posts you need to allow extra space for them.
If you already have steel posts, brick pillars or walls, simply take the measurements between them. Wall Fixing Posts (Above Ground installation Posts) may help solve the problem of a non-standard opening.
We allow 2" (5cm) for all heights of steel gates. Taking the KD26 - Iron Gate 6' (183cm High) as an example, centre 6' (183cm) will measure A 5'10" (178cm) high when delivered and 6' (183cm) high when hung. And hanging sides 5' (153cm) will measure B 4'10" (148cm) high when delivered and 5' (153cm) high when hung (see picture below). |
